Dr. Jason E. Bruemmer Conferred 2018 Equine Science Award
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Aug. 16, 2018 – Jason E. Bruemmer, Ph.D., was recently honored as the recipient of the 2018 American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) and Equine Science Society (ESS) Equine Science Award. Sponsored by Zinpro Corporation, the award was presented last month to Dr. Bruemmer, a professor and associate director of equine sciences at Colorado State University (CSU), by Jason Russell, Ph.D., research nutritionist, Zinpro Corporation, at the ASAS and the Canadian Society of Animal Science 2018 annual meeting and trade show in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Bruemmer is internationally recognized for his research on stallion behavior and breeding problems, artificial insemination, reproduction management and contraception in wild, free-roaming horses. To date, he has published 56 referred journal papers, 93 abstracts, five book chapters and four popular press articles. He is also a gifted researcher and teacher, with a natural ease in relating with the horseman, veterinarian and student, as evidenced by his research productivity, industry outreach activities, teaching and advising awards and participation in CSU’s world-class continuing education program.
The ESS and ASAS Equine Science Award honors outstanding achievements in the areas of Extension, research, teaching or agribusiness in the equine industry. Dr. Bruemmer is the tenth recipient of the award, which has been sponsored by Zinpro Corporation since its inception in 2008.
